• Role: Experienced Surgical Veterinary Technician
• Status: Full-time
• Salary: From $23.00 per hour
• Hospital Hours: Monday through Friday: 8 am - 6 pm. Saturdays 8 am - 3 pm

Columbus Central Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced full-time surgical technician. We currently care for dogs and cats only and are a three-doctor general practice that provides urgent care services and in house diagnostics. We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, compassionate, and has a positive attitude. Here at Columbus, we strive to provide exceptional pet care and client communication/education.

As a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you will be an integral part of our surgical team. You'll ensure every furry patient is comfortable, safe, and well-cared for by performing tasks such as:

• Preparing and maintaining surgical suites and sterilizing equipment according to aseptic protocols
• Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures
• Preparing and monitoring patients for and during anesthesia
• Placing IV catheters, taking phlebotomy, and administering medications
• Dental cleanings and radiography
• Providing post-operative care and recovery monitoring
• Communicating with clients to provide surgical updates and discharge instructions
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
